The DSM Foundation is proud to announce the return of I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die to Northern Ireland for our second live Theatre in Education (TIE) tour in Spring 2025/26, performed by Ever Unique Productions. Our first tour was a great success, having reached numerous schools across NI, engaging with over 4,467 young people.
This powerful play, based on the true story of 16-year-old Daniel Spargo-Mabbs, is at the heart of the DSM Foundation’s mission to help young people make safer choices around drugs. The specially adapted TIE version of the play has now been performed over 700 times, reaching more than 136,000 students across the UK - and has been a GCSE Drama set text since 2022.
This important work in Northern Ireland has been made possible in a large way thanks to Sandra Larmour, who partnered with the Foundation following the tragic death of her daughter Jeni from Co Armagh. Sandra has been instrumental in bringing our work to NI and continues to play a key role in supporting its growth and impact.
We received incredibly positive feedback from schools from the first Northern Irish tour; you can see a short film that showcases the performance and summarises the impact here.
As well as raising money to support this tour, donations raised through this page will also support workshops for parents and carers, empowering them to feel confident and equipped when talking to their children about drugs and decision-making, as well as any other opportunities that are identified in Northern Ireland.
With your help, we can continue bringing this vital, evidence-based drug education to young people and the adults in their lives across Northern Ireland, so that all young people get to go home in one piece.
